International Global Yachting (IGY) is changing the face of St. Lucia’s Northern end by creating one of the most impressive mega-yacht marinas in the region. In addition to this, the internationally acclaimed five star exclusive Raffles Hotels & Resorts has joined forces with Jack Nicklaus to create an incredible new high-end golfing community in Cap Estate - St. Lucia’s posh residential area. Why is this important? It puts St. Lucia on a circuit of middle to top-end visitor market for the first time, enabling this island to move further away from the all-inclusive tourism model that has hindered the development of these small Caribbean isles. Lucians have the opportunity to create and expand new businesses rather than staying employed for low wages at local companies. High-end residential and touristic development also facilitates the improvement of building practices, quality of building materials and workmanship.
IGY is sponsored by the New York based international merchant banking firm Island Capital Group.

With the great estates (Grand Anse, 1,600 acres and Marquis Estate, 500 acres) now selling, nothing of significant importance to developers remains.
It is expected that the present downturn in global economies will actually accelerate the mass exodus from countries always in the media to shores like ours and that home construction and prices in St. Lucia will increase as a direct result.
Communities of expatriates already exist in this island for the past 35+ years.
